New! We’ve added in some new charts to the performance section

We told you about some changes we recently made to the account summary tab a couple of weeks ago. We are now pleased to let you know about some further developments aimed at helping you understand better how your Beanstalk account(s) are performing. Hopefully you will find the changes helpful but as always please feel free to ping us an email if you have more suggestions or feedback.

Introducing Account Performance Charts

You will find the changes in the Performance Tool. You can get to this from the Tools menu but you can also link straight to it from the account summary screen for any of your Beanstalk accounts.

Under the new “Account Performance” tab, you will find a chart which shows how the value of your Beanstalk account has moved over time compared to the cumulative contributions that have made into the account. You can choose different time frames to show: the default is All Time (i.e: since the account was opened) but you can also look at data for the last month, last 6 months, 1 year and 2 years.

If you have more than one account, you use the selector buttons at the bottom of the page to choose which account to show. You can also touch the screen to see the values at a particular point in time.

A few things to be aware of:

  • Net Contributions includes all contributions that have been received into the account which could include contributions from you, contributions from other donors, transfers in of other accounts or cashback that you have earned through Beanstalk. For ISAs, we deduct from this any withdrawals that have been made.
  • The Net Contributions are cumulative and are the total made to that date.
  • Net contributions can be negative. This is not an error, it just means that you have withdrawn from the account more money than has been contributed.
  • We only show data in this section once an account has been opened for a couple of months as they will look strange and potentially misleading if the time period is limited.
  • If you are a donor linked to someone else’s child and the parent has given “Full View” permission you’ll be able to see the same charts.

We hope you like the new charts but as always please do let us know what you think or whether you have further suggestions.
